Our Story
It started with four friends and a shared vision, to bring people together in the Hills district through running.
What began as a simple idea quickly grew into something much more: a space where anyone could show up, feel welcome, and be part of something bigger. One step at a time.
Through Hills Run Club, we saw the power of genuine connection firsthand. People who once felt lost found purpose again. Not through apps, but by showing up side by side, one Thursday at a time.
Now, we’re taking that same spirit and bringing it into the business world.
Why we build Young Momentum
Whether launching a first venture or finding footing in a career, the path can feel isolating. When young visionaries decide to pursue something bigger, the same challenges tend to surface.
The desire for more is clear, but direction has shifted faster than the environment around you. There is no one close by to challenge thinking, inspire progress, or support real growth.
This is the space between who you were and who you are becoming.
Young Momentum refers to this as the ‘Purgatory Phase’. Learn more >
Young Momentum exists to change that.
Designed for 18–30 year olds in the Hills District, it is built around connection, shared ambition, and personal growth.
For those seeking an ambitious community and a place to grow, connect, and build something meaningful, this is it.

Nicholas Cutroni
Nicholas’s Story
Entrepreneurship has been part of my story from the beginning. Growing up around business taught me early that building something meaningful is not just about profit. It is about people.
My first venture started in primary school, selling wristbands to classmates. What began quietly grew faster than I expected. The lesson stayed with me. People were not just buying a product. They were buying a sense of belonging.
That same feeling returned in high school while flipping furniture with a close friend. The money was great, but not as much as the teamwork, late nights, and shared ambition. Being around the right people raised my standards and shaped the direction I wanted to move in.
After school, that sense of connection faded. Even though I was surrounded by people, I felt disconnected. I kept searching for a community that felt genuine, but nothing quite fit.
Eventually, I found my way back to running. Joining a run club became a turning point. Movement, consistency, and shared effort created connection naturally, without pressure or pretence.
That experience led to the creation of Hills Run Club. Week by week, we watched strangers become friends and created a new home for runners. With a fast-growing community of 3,000+ followers and over 700,000 views, we built something truly special. A movement grounded in connection, purpose, and belonging.
Hills Run Club showed what is possible when people are brought together with similar interests and create new and lasting friendships.
That same spirit is now at the heart of Young Momentum. Whether you’re launching your first business venture or climbing the corporate ladder, we know it can be a lonely road.
Young Momentum is the next step. A community designed for young people who want to grow personally, professionally, and socially in the business world. Wether your an aspiring entrepreneur or early career builder. We are creating a place where ambition feels normal, support is genuine, and no one feels like they are navigating life alone.
This is only the beginning and I cannot wait to showcase what’s ahead.
See you on the other side!
Co-Founder & Head of Marketing for Young Momentum
Mackenzie Owen
Mackenzie’s Story
Creativity and discipline shaped my early years. Growing up in the performing arts taught me resilience, commitment, and what it truly means to work toward something you love. It also revealed an early truth — that passion alone does not always guarantee a clear or sustainable
future.
After years of training and sacrifice, I reached this crossroads following high school. University didn’t feel like the right path, and financially, continuing my casual hospitality role wasn’t viable. I knew I needed to take a different step, even without knowing where it
would lead.
That step came in the form of a small, entry-level marketing role at my father’s company. What felt like a simple decision quickly became a defining moment. I moved across Sydney, leaving behind friendships, relationships, and a community I had spent six years building, and
started again from the ground up.
What I didn’t expect was how much I would love the process. Over the past three years, I have grown both professionally and personally — developing confidence, resilience, and a strong sense of purpose through hands-on experience.
Joining the Sydney Hills Business Chamber at just 18 became a pivotal turning point. It placed me in rooms I never expected to be in and connected me with leaders and mentors who challenged my thinking and raised my standards. However, growth often comes with
distance. As my path evolved, I began to feel increasingly disconnected from my peers, navigating different ambitions, priorities, and personal change.
That changed when I met Nicholas, Jasmine, and other young leaders through the Chamber. For the first time, I found people my age who shared the same hunger, values, and commitment to growth. Stepping away from the traditional “university path” allowed me to
redefine my identity — both professionally and in everyday life.
That sense of connection led to the creation of Hills Run Club. What began as a simple idea quickly grew into a thriving community built on consistency, movement, and belonging. Being part of its growth has been one of the most fulfilling chapters of my journey. Now, it’s time for what’s next.
Young Momentum exists for those who feel driven yet disconnected — ambitious, but unsure where they fit. It’s a space designed for young people who want to grow personally, professionally, and socially, without feeling like they have to do it alone. This is only the beginning.
Let’s build momentum together.
Young Momentum’s Core Values
A curiosity-driven mindset
Growth starts with curiosity. We value people who ask thoughtful questions, challenge assumptions, and stay open to learning. Curiosity keeps us adaptable, grounded, and continuously improving.
Built on collaboration
Progress is stronger when it is shared. We build alongside others, support each other’s growth, and contribute openly. Success is not diminished when shared, it is multiplied.
Learning through action
Insight only matters when it is applied. We believe progress comes from testing ideas, learning by doing, and taking ownership of outcomes. Momentum is created through real-world application.
Comfortable stretching beyond familiar ground
Growth often begins where certainty ends. We encourage stepping into new conversations, environments, and responsibilities, using challenge as a signal for development rather than something to avoid.
Community first
No one builds momentum alone. Our community creates accountability, perspective, and shared energy. When individuals grow together, everyone moves further than they would on their own.
Ownership and integrity
We value personal responsibility, honesty, and follow-through. Members take ownership of their growth, respect the people around them, and act in ways that build trust within the community.
